From Kuala Pilah with Love...

I'm at Pak ngah's house in Kuala Pilah having lunch that is oohhh so yummy. I am so full right now..my lids are heavy...hehehe. My kids are loving the environment n they get to run freely around the house. Such a huge compound n amazing kampung house. What a fresh breath of air away from the bustling city life.

I'm enjoying myself too while I can. The cold water is inviting me for a shower..kampung style!!!Hahaha.

Raya Pictures and short story

I have hundreds of photos and never ending story about 'Raya'. However I do not wish to bore my readers about my 'Raya' stories…hehehe. Don’t get me wrong I had a blast and I truly enjoyed myself but to emphasized more on it I definitely have no energy to spare. All I could say was in a day we went to at least 11 houses total. Yes that’s how big my Hubby’s family was and we only managed to visit about 60% of the relatives, i think.
:

By night I could feel my feet burning and my body aching. My parents decided to experience raya in Kuching after hearing so many stories from me and I can assure you they totally didn’t expect it to be that hectic!!! Hahaha. My mom almost surrendered on the last day but all in all it was an experience she will never forget.
:

I’ve uploaded more pics in my FB. The ones that u see here are those that I did not publish in FB. It’s more of a candid photos n moments captured unaware, which I think is unique in it’s own expressive ways. Enjoy.

Open House 'Bhaju'

The coming weeks are full with open house invitation. I’ve just send most of my 'baju raya' for dry cleaning today and so I have a reason to get something new to be worn for this weekend. Hahaha..yup I always have reason to buy things!! *wink*
:

Anyway I’ve been eyeing this particular batik crepe way before 'raya' and thought that I could pass the intention of purchasing more baju but then…I was wrong!!! I couldn’t stop thinking bout it and so..i decided to just try it n hoping It wont look nice on me!!! I try it on n what can I say??? There goes my budget!!! Aarrrggghhhh…I cant help it after seeing how nice it skimmed my body and it fits me perfectly. Sorry 'yang'..i just have to have it!!! Hhhmmmm I promise no more purchases for the coming month…hehehe.

Raya with Ol' Buddies

Today I went for a raya visit at frens place. Yati was so kind to organized a lunch get together for us. They were ana n family, haliza n family n few others. After lunch at Kota Damansara they head down to my place for afternoon of tea n coffee.
:

It was good fun and a chance to meet old buddies. All of us used to work with the Airline and now decided to make our own destiny elsewhere. There’s a lot of catching up to do but so limited time. I hope one of these day we get to see each other again. How time flies…*sigh*

Raya at Home@BJ

We came back from hubby’s hometown yesterday night and have not fully recovered. My body aches and my feet is burning in flames!!! Hahaha..yup that’s how bad my condition is but since my uncle is in town they decided to drop by my place today before their journey back to Ipoh tomorrow. I told mom to bring the rest of the troop and hubby decided to invite his close friend who’s going back to Saudi on Monday.
:

I cook the simplest dish I could think off which is soto accompanied with satay kajang from nearby R&R. The rest of course consist of cookies and kek lapis Sarawak. Nothing grand or out of the ordinary anyway everything was okay except that my kids was not in their best behaviour probably because they have not fully recovered and not well rested.
:

I didn’t managed to snap any photos of the dishes..aarrgghhhh I was too busy preparing them and no time at all to pose for the camera. However I managed to snap few photos of Allysha terrorizing my cookies and kek lapis. Ooohhh please remind me to get a plastic container for my raya cookies next year!!!

'Malam Tujuh Likur'

:

When I was 5 my late grandma was staying at a 'kampong' house before she moved in with mom. I remembered the joy of having to spend my childhood (though it was short) at a 'kampong'. The best of those days is during 'Ramadhan'. Those memories of lampu tujuh likur and us having our freedom to play ‘bunga api’ as much as we want too will remain close in my heart. One night my small brother who is barely 3 at that time was playing along with me when suddenly I heard screams from other kids, yes my dear bro somehow has managed to soak himself in gasoline from one of the ‘pelita’. Atok immediately rush him into the house and get him clean and showered. Thank god nothing else happened!!!.

:

But now the only thing close to having a 'lampu tujuh likur' is the neon colour bulb adorning mom terrace house. I have no 'kampong' since I was 6. My family has been spending countless raya with our house sporting the neon craze. Sometimes I’m envious of those family who gets to enjoy decorating their lawn with 'pelita' and children running and screaming their heads off in excitement!! Yes..i’m only human and I guess it’s normal to have those feelings..but nevertheless I’m thankful that I still get the chance to be amongst family thought we’re surrounded with walls and bricks!! Hahaha…well it doesn’t really matter as long as my kids are able to understand the meaning of get together and having grandpa’s n grandma who love them to death!!!

:

So peeps..i’m sure each one of us have our own ways of decorating our houses and garden for this 'malam tujuh likur'. As for me the only thing close to having a 'pelita' is putting these tea light candles at my indoor courtyard. Hahahaha.
