Scrap It With A Song Week#15

For this week challenge i decided to do an altered frame for the above blog. I've had this frame for at least 4 months n totally forgot that i had them until i decided to do a little cleaning at my crafty corner!! So i thought..why not do something different.

I painted the frame with mod podge and gold dust, on a plain cardstock i inked the background with ranger distress ink and then embossed the butterfly image on top before cutting it out. Same technique with the frame distress n embossed, glitter on top. The rest are just something that i pile up to my liking.

It's been a busy day for me. I have been active since morning, gymboree class for ally, making a 'Raya' card, Jazzercise, Coffee session with d ladies n now, updating my blog! But it's good to have so many things to do as it takes my mind of other matters. Yes..today marks the 7th day since her passing, and i miss her still. What more with the coming 'ramadhan'. She'll always be in my prayers.

Okay on to this challenge. The mission this time is to include, 1) Wings, 2) lo aboutself, 3) Use sketch, 4) Handrawn Journalling Lines, 5) Beads. Creative Scrapper Sketch #114

I have a few coming projects in my mind. The muslim will be observing the fasting month soon. I have yet to make any preparation for the coming 'syawal'. Oowwhhh well, i dont plan to celebrate it in a big way. Nothing more than required. Just the neccesary, perhaps a pair or two of the traditional 'baju kurung'. The kids is my main priority this year.

For sketch #46, add stitching to ur page. I scrapped this old photos of my mom back in the 60's. Mini Catalog

A friend ask if i cud do a mini album @catalog for her small 'Raya Hamper' business . Since the muslim will be celebrating Ramadhan n then Syawal, she wanted it fast. Lucky me i had this Charlotte K and Ivory Fusion from K&Co 12 x 12 Paper pad. I used nearly half of each pad. The inside of the album is fully PP with printed photos of d hamper n description. With a limited budget i have to keep the design simple and play with what i have at hand. So here's the result.

Make Each Day Count

After my recent lost, i look at life differently. There's so much i wanted to do. One..i pray to be able to perform Hajj next year. If Allah swt permits perhaps it would materialised insyAllah. Second..i pray to be forgiven of my many2 sins. It's time to pay back all those debts, one way or another. Third..to do things i dont have time to do before, spend more quality time with d kids, be a good wife to my husband, be a good daughter to my parents, be a good muslim. Just covering up but not living the Islam way is no point too. Definitely less shopping for the unneccersary, less talk n more action.

I vowed to do it all, life is short. Only god knows when, where n how our time will come. For that make each day count. Balancing 'dunia' n 'akhirat' is my aim now. I am still the same person but i'm looking at life not quite the same way anymore. I always think to myself..when i am at the after life n be question of my purpose in this 'dunia'. What will be my answer to god?? Will the many designer bags that i acquired bring goodness then??? or the fancy cars and the big house be measured??? I cried thinking about it...i am so lost in my own world to notice the suffering of others. Yes..i used to say..if u have it flaunt it!!! Well..flaunt as much as i want it will not save me in 'akhirat'.

In other way..god works mysteriously, it is such a weird way of wakeup call for me. But i thank 'Allah' for making me realised it before it's too late. Perhaps, my way of writing will hurt others out there but no pun intended, this entry is solely mine..it is about me. Others may have their way of showing their respect n love to god. No doubt i'm no saint and just by writing this doesnt make me better than the rest. This is purely what my heart desire..All i wanted is to share and let this be a reminder if one day i lost my way..i will always remember this entry that i did. This is a promise to myself.

LCOM 28 Days Of Summer

LCOM is celebrating 28 Days of summer at their forum blog. I decided to join in the fun just so i cud clear my old stash. When i first started scrapping i have no idea on what works best for me n i stock up on a lot of things esp embellishment before realising that it was a real uncordinated mess! Bits of this n that. I have a lot of those and i wonder if i'll ever use it.
